ORION ENERGY LLC SELLS WAYMART WIND ENERGY CENTER ASSETS
TO FPL ENERGY

OAKLAND (April 30, 2003) -- Orion Energy LLC of Oakland, California announced today the completion of the development phase of the 64.5 Megawatt Waymart Wind Energy Center and the sale of the project to FPL Energy. FPL Energy will build, own and operate the project which, when completed later this year, will be the largest wind energy project in Pennsylvania and the second largest east of the Mississippi.

The Waymart Wind Energy Center is located in Wayne County, Canaan and Clinton Townships, in northeastern Pennsylvania. The 43 wind turbines to be installed in the facility are manufactured by GE Wind Energy and are each capable of generating up to 1.5 MW of electricity. The Waymart Wind Energy Center will generate enough electricity to meet the needs of over 20,000 average Pennsylvania households. Exelon Generation Company, LLC of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, will purchase all of the electricity generated by the project. The Sustainable Development Fund of Philadelphia, a clean energy fund managed by The Reinvestment Fund, will provide production incentives to the project.

Their experience will ensure the successful construction and operation of the project.”
